Sorry for the lack of updates. I took a brief trip to Vegas. I’ll post more about it in a few days.<\/p>\n

But while I was gone, a wonderful thing happened in the Pennsylvania Legislature. A Senate committee cleared the way for six-packs of beer at beer distributors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For those of you who have never had the “pleasure” of buying beer in my home state, we have an incredibly messed up system. You can only buy wine and liquor in state-run stores. You can only buy kegs and cases of beers at distributors. You can only buy up to 12 beers at a time at a bar or tavern.<\/p>\n

As someone who likes to buy six-packs of microbrews to sample new tastes, this is a great law. I will no longer have to stop in Maryland on my way home from work to buy beer. I don’t always want a case of a certain kind of beer so I don’t go to a distributor and bars don’t always have the greatest selection and tend to rip you off if they do.<\/p>\n

The law would let distributors start stocking six-packs and increase the limit at bars from 12 to 18 beers. What a novel concept – letting everyone get a little more of the action.
