For the first time in forever, we rented a few movies. We had some time over the holidays, so I used a gift card I got for my birthday and picked a pair up at Blockbuster.

We had want to see The Ex (which has somehow been re-titled “Fast Track) when it came out in the theatre, but just never had a chance. Part of that was because the film flopped. After watching it, I’m not entirely sure why. Sure, I’m easily entertained and was pre-disposed to like it because I love the Jason Bateman and the Zach Braff, but the film was not that bad.

What is the world coming to when easily tied up 90-minute romantic comedies with a fairly unbelieveable premise can’t get any attention? I love that the real R-rated comedy has made a comeback, but I hope that’s not at the expense of movies like The Ex. Especially since Charles Grodin does a fantastic job in the film.
