I can think of a lot of strange ways to spend a Sunday morning, but I think I topped them all last week.<\/p>\n
I didn’t intend to get up early and go see the Hannah Montana\/Miley Cyrus concert movie with Bridget, but I also didn’t expect the movie to sell out multiple shows before I tried to buy tickets.<\/p>\n
Yea, I know that’s pretty stupid. I have no idea why I thought I could wait until Saturday morning to buy tickets for a showing that afternoon.<\/p>\n
I don’t normally like getting up very early on Sunday mornings and watching a concert movie in a room filled with kids, but the sad look on Bridget’s face made me realize I had no choice.<\/p>\n
Maria could have skipped most of the the Super Bowl party we attended and taken Bridget to the 5:30 p.m. show, but I didn’t want either one of them to miss spending time with our friends. So the early show it was.<\/p>\n
Right away, I found a problem. I know the theatre only opened specially for this film. I know they generally don’t show things that early in the morning.<\/p>\n
Would it have killed them to have some coffee? Ideally, I would have liked to see Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks set up a kiosk in the lobby so the parents could get their morning fix before heading inside. Some pastry would have been nice too.<\/p>\n
I would have even settled for someone bringing a coffee pot from home and buying some Folger’s at the grocery store on their way into work.<\/p>\n
All I’m saying is that I didn’t bring any coffee because I didn’t want to run afoul of the \u201cNo Outside Food\u201d signs, I didn’t have time to drink coffee at home, and they didn’t sell any coffee.<\/p>\n
I’m lucky I survived the film.<\/p>\n
Once I accepted the fact that I would have to hold out until 10:30 or so to get a cup of joe, things got better. The best part was that everyone else was as lethargic as I was.<\/p>\n
One of my sisters took her kids to see the film on Sunday evening down in the Towson area. She said her crowd had plenty of screaming girls in it.<\/p>\n
I don’t know if it was the good manners of Hanoverians, the time or day or the lack of coffee, but hardly anyone made a peep throughout the entire film. Well, except for the lady behind me explaining everything to her kid and repeating anything anyone said.<\/p>\n
That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy seeing Hannah in concert. First off, the 3D effects were outstanding. I also really like the music and enjoyed seeing the kids in the theatre and those at the concerts experience such happiness.<\/p>\n
Yes, I know parents and ticket scalpers got a little out of control, but this young girl on stage means everything to her fans, and that’s refreshing.<\/p>\n
We grownups take ourselves and our problems a little too seriously at times. I can’t help but think that songs like \u201cNobody’s Perfect\u201d and \u201cLet’s Dance\u201d have a message for those of us accompanying the real Hannah\/Miley fans.<\/p>\n
That’s why I didn’t really mind not having coffee that much. But it would have helped.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
