I have written about Delaware’s gambling proposal a few times. As you can probably tell, the prospect of sports wagering just a few hours from my house sounds like a great idea to me.

The NCAA does not agree. They have threatened to forbid the University of Delaware from holding any NCAA playoff games on campus if the state adds sports gambling. I have a few problems with this proposed punishment.

First off, it’s stupid. Second off, Las Vegas has a bowl game, as the article points out. Third, it’s dumb. Fourth, I find the NCAA cracking down on possible gambling because of the Division I-AA football playoffs – I refuse to use the new stupid name they have – pretty funny since they won’t allow a I-A playoff. Fifth, it’s stupid and dumb.

If that wasn’t enough to harsh my buzz, the racinos in the state don’t like the idea, mainly because the governor wants to add more race tracks with gambling and allow sports bets to be placed in some non-casino locations. I can kind of see their point, but one of the proposed new race tracks is less than half an hour from where we vacation in the summer. Can’t they let that one pass and stop the others?
