Our government has disappointed me greatly. This has nothing to do with who sits on the Supreme Court or anything silly like that. This has to do with a great issue of national security.<\/p>\n
How can an adult who voluntarily uses the name \u201cScooter\u201d get national security clearance?<\/p>\n
This issue should cross all political and social lines. America should stand together to right this terrible wrong. I don\u2019t see how we can remain silent.<\/p>\n
America may have a serious political problem on its hands, but we can never get to the bottom of the matter as long as we keep having to wrap our minds around the concept of someone named \u201cScooter\u201d working in The White House without a job that involves delivering mail.<\/p>\n
I have no problems with nicknames. I love nicknames. Everyone should have several nicknames.<\/p>\n
But once you accept responsibility to determine how this country runs, you give up the right to be called \u201cScooter\u201d without everyone snickering behind your back.<\/p>\n
If people called him Scooter as a joke, I could deal with the whole scenario. But this man gives business cards to foreign dignitaries with a nickname on it. It\u2019s bad enough we have a cabinet secretary called Tommy. Now we have made up nicknames in high places?<\/p>\n
Do you think we would have ever won the Cold War if we had told the Russians that they would have to deal with \u201cScooter\u201d on some important issue?<\/p>\n
In the classic movie, \u201cRed Dawn,\u201d a bunch of plucky teenagers rose up to fight the commies when they invaded the middle of the U.S. Led by such great American fighting heroes as Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell and Jennifer Grey, the kids repelled the red horde.<\/p>\n
Was their battle cry, \u201cScooter?\u201d Of course not. \u201cWolverines,\u201d they cried out. Sure, that was their high school\u2019s mascot, but no one would ever think of using \u201cScooter\u201d as a nickname for a football team, would they?<\/p>\n
Not on your life. \u201cScooter\u201d doesn\u2019t put fear in the heart of the enemy.<\/p>\n
I went to college with a guy we called \u201cScooter.\u201d His real name was Jason, but some girl at a party decided that we should call him \u201cScooter.\u201d So we did.<\/p>\n
He accepted the nickname grudgingly. Since he was dating one of the prettiest girls in the school, he managed to survive.<\/p>\n
But I have a feeling that he stopped introducing himself as \u201cScooter\u201d the minute he stopped spending Saturday nights at fraternity parties.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s the way it should be.<\/p>\n
I can\u2019t hear the world \u201cScooter\u201d without thinking of that guy. He almost never combed his hair and had a goofy sense of humor. That\u2019s a \u201cScooter.\u201d You should never give \u201cScooter\u201d the launch codes.<\/p>\n
Americans have a bad reputation in the world today for a number of reasons. Is this a surprise with \u201cScooter\u201d handling important government matters?<\/p>\n
Americans have a long, proud tradition of letting government know where to draw the line. The time has come for another great chapter in that history.<\/p>\n
If we don\u2019t act now, imagine what might happen next? \u201cSparky\u201d for the Supreme Court? \u201cStinky\u201d for President?<\/p>\n
