Worth a Shot

I like to try and support local food places. When Maria was working on Saturday, I figured I’d hit a place I had never tried before. I was hankering for a sub so I went to this new pizza/sub joint. Yeah, that isn’t happening again.

First off, I didn’t get what I ordered. I got it to go so I didn’t notice until I got home. I ordered their Philly Cheesesteak which was cheese and onions. I got what they called the California cheesesteak, which had lettuce, tomato and onions. I know the difference because I asked for no tomatoes and she told me the difference right there. The tomato were easy to remove so it wasn’t that big a deal, but how hard is it to get it right?

Secondly, they really need to know the definition of steak. This was cut up hamburger. And not even that much of it.

I do have to say that the onion rings were pretty good though. And so was the bread.

  1. If you ever end up going back to one of those pizza/sub joints ask em to load on a bunch of stuff onto your Philly Cheese. There is a place near me and I always ask them to put on mozerella sticks and onion rings onto my Philly Cheese. It helps the heart attacks develop easier. I agree with the person above and support legislation that lettuce and/or tomato should be considered illegal when put on a Philly Cheesesteak.

  2. It’s so annoying when they can’t get the orders right. And I’m a purist–lettuce and tomato don’t belong on a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich anyway (IMNSHO). But hey, yay for the good onion rings.
