Kudos if you get the Lewis Black reference. I couldn’t resist since his bits on the Janet Jackson-Justin Timberlake saga from the Super Bowl a few years ago. He went on and on about he insanity associated with such a minor incident.
Thankfully, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed today and threw out the FCC’s fine against CBS.
“The Commission’s determination that CBS’s broadcast of a nine-sixteenths of one second glimpse of a bare female breast was actionably indecent evidenced the agency’s departure from its prior policy,” the court found.
Hopefully, they also found that worrying about a quick glimpse of a boob won’t send the nation into apoplectic shock. And that Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake are pretty much devoid of talent, although Justin has seemed to redeem himself in recent efforts.
Besides, who the hell watches the halftime show?
