My Friend Magnum

A few months ago, Maria and I discovered something wonderful on our cable lineup. One of our local stations had added something called RTN to one of the new digital channels. RTN stands for Retro Television Network, which is a lower-budget version of TV Land, but just as enjoyable.

What really attracted me to this channel was the fact that they showed Magnum, P.I. each night. I never really watched this show when it aired because I thought it was just an excuse for women to ogle Tom Selleck. My teenage mind couldn’t grasp that the show much, much more.

I started watching reruns when I got older and realized why the show lasted eight seasons. They really manage to pack a lot into an hour. The cast does a wonderful job at bringing the different characters to light.

So on the nights when we don’t have any of our regular shows to watch at 9 p.m., we settle down to Magnum. We watched a pretty fun episode last night since we couldn’t stomach the presidential debate. Unfortunately, I fell asleep so I can only assume that Thomas didn’t kill the girl and the people who had hired him set him up and left his Tigers camp at the scene of the crime. I couldn’t find any solid episode guide online so I will just have to keep watching and hope I can stay asleep if I see the episode again.
