ITEOTWAWKI: Tour Resumes

R.E.M. gets back on the road tonight with a show I would love to see. The Old 97s are opening for the band which will make for a hell of a fun evening.

I really wonder what kind of set list the band will pull out. They have had several months to work through their favorites. I didn’t pay that much attention to the lists from the European shows, but I know a few songs that didn’t get play in the U.S. were featured, including “End of the World.”

Just looking back at the last few shows from overseas, “Heron House,” “Sweetness Follows,” “She Just Wants to Be,” “Exhuming McCarthy,” and (amazingly) “Just a Touch” were all played. Hopefully the folks in Dallas will get some treats.

To get the people down there ready for the show, the Dallas Morning News put together some memories of the band’s appearances in town. The story showed some of the quirkiness which has followed R.E.M. through their history.
