My Lifeline

A number of years ago, a friend of ours spoke about how he kept up with changes in pop culture through his subscription to Entertainment Weekly. Since Maria and I were getting increasingly busy, we figured we would check out the magazine and see if it helped us.

That was one of the best decisions we ever made. I got a reminder of that yesterday when this week’s issue came filled with the good news of the upcoming TV season.

I love this time of year. I could spend hours upon hours going over the grids for each night of the week, trying to plan every single minute of my TV watching. I would never have the chance to watch all of it, but I would be ready to if I won the lottery ot something like that.

At a quick glance, I don’t know if I will add any shows to my schedule this fall. We traditionally watch “Desperate Housewives” on Sunday, “How I Met Your Mother” on Monday, “Boston Legal” on Tuesday (or whenever we get a chance to watch it on TiVo) and “My Name is Earl,” “The Office” and “Scrubs” on Thursday. We save “Grey’s Anatomy” for Friday night on the TiVo.

We might add “Private Practice,” the spinoff from Grey’s this fall. I also want to checkout the Patricia Heaton/Kelsey Grammar sitcom. But I think I’m pretty much full. I’ll have to finish reading EW to see if there’s anything else I need to check out.

  1. If you are a reality junkie you have to watch CMT’s Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge. I think the last episode airs this week but I’m sure they will be doing re-runs.
